Joe contributed his musical talents for Cargill, Inc.'s fundraising campaign for Toys For Tots on December 14. Joe and two Cargill employees put on two shows for Cargill and played his Christmas song arrangements from In The Light. Joe donated a large portion of CD sale profits to Toys For Tots. The Blenders are kicking off their Holiday Soul Tour once again with their four piece soul band at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis, MN on December 3rd. Joe will be playing electric guitar, shaker, and bass drum. The shows features songs from past Blenders' Christmas albums, their two Songs From The Soul albums, and some new Christmas arrangements. The ladies of Redpath released a brand new Christmas CD on November 9th, 2010, featuring four new original songs Joe wrote with Redpath. Much of the album was recorded at Joe's studio in Lakeville, MN, and it highlights his versatile guitar and production work. For the last several years, Joe has been composing music for an instrumental guitar record. He started recording the drums in early 2009, and is now finishing up the mixes on his first solo album that should be out in 2010. This rock album will feature symphonic compositions, tasteful melodies, captivating solos, and guitar playing that goes from wild and explosive to heartbroken and desperate. Joe says, “I like to go on a journey when I write a piece of music, and I want the listener to enjoy the ride. I enjoy making my songs entertaining, humorous, or epic. One of my favorite things to do with an electric guitar is to make strange noises, or to make it sound like it is saying something. I also love memorable melodies and pretty harmonies in music, and I strive to write music that has those qualities.” This record is sure to be a captivating listen and is sure to deliver something good to any music lover. This fundraising event will feature ten local Twin Cities artists, including Joe, who is performing several of his instrumental compositions that will be featured on his first solo record, due out very soon. Proceeds for this event will benefit two causes: Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans and Center for Victims of Torture.
